General title-page present (small chip to fore-edge); lacks quire * (preliminaries). CC.iii. mis-signed Cc.ii; [Aaa.vi.] mis-signed iii; Cc.iiii. mis-signed Bb.iiii. General title and NT title with Cromwell’s arms removed in plate (that is, cut out of the woodblock). Some internal stains, tears, repairs and some minor inoffensive worming occasionally affecting text. (e.g. flaws at E.v. and [E.vii] in II Kynges; N.iii. and N.iiii. in Job; AA.ii. of Psalter; [Gg.viii.] in Romans chipped with 1/3 loss of leaf; [Mm.vi] with about ¼ loss of Table on recto, no text lost on verso; etc.) Despite these mentioned flaws, the copy is internally very nice overall, with comfortable margins. Probable 17 th Century blindtooled calf boards, scuffed, lately rebacked to style. New endpapers and head- and tail-bands. Herbert 62. DM 36. STC. 2075
