1806 ownership ink inscription on front free endpaper. The occasional inevitable small stain but overall in very nice condition. Leicester Free Library blind embossed stamp to a few leaves at front and back.
First p rinting of one of the most beautiful of all English Bibles, from a typographical viewpoint.
“Always regarded as Baskerville’s magnum opus, and his most magnificent as well as his most characteristic specimen” (Reed, A History of the Old English Letter Foundries, p. 279, referring to this 1763 folio).
